trastevere’s magical medieval lighting

Last night, after consuming copious amounts of watermelon

and peach bellinis (not very 4th of July, I know, but the champagne was on sale!), Sarah and I headed down to the Tiber River for a walk and then wound our way back towards home through the winding medieval streets of Trastevere (our neighborhood).  On our walk, we were so inspired by the soft yellow lighting that we decided to have a bit of a night photo shoot.  Sarah photographed and I basically just hung around as subject matter.  LOTS of fun.  I suppose the fun we were having was enhanced by our cheap 66cl beers that we purchased – only to blend in of course, everyone on the street had one!  Either way, it was a good time.  The lighting makes it easy to imagine what Trastevere was like 500 years ago – pretty much the same way it looks today actually.  Here’s a few of our favorite results from our playful night out with the camera…
